Production Blog: Phase two... editing

Image
To recap we began to film during spring break, and got like half done. This week we wont be able to film but we will film the second part next week Monday. But that doesn't mean we have no work to do for this week. We started to brainstorm editing and the ideas we had for titles. Though one of us did the editing we all did a little brainstorming, commenting, and helping. But I do know what was done since I was there for filming and told the ideas I wanted to incorporate in the video.  For example we did a scene where the camera didn't move but we did two shots in. The character was in the shot walks out of the view of the camera and walks back in with a new outfit. This is simple editing but you have to cut it enough for it to make sense and still leave room for other shots. Which is one of the things my group worried about, time. One of them thought that the getting ready scenes, what we were able to film, take up a lot of time meaning we weren't going to be able to fi

Production Blog: Finally we filmed

With many interventions we finally did it and filmed during spring break, last week. We still have more to film, but point is we started. Due to it being spring break though, many of us were leaving or had plans every other day. So to set up a day most of us could film was a hassle. It ended up being two of us filming one day because more than half of the video are solo shots of the main actor, meaning we didn't need everyone. We still have to film the other scenes which we will do sometime this week or the next. So expect another blog about filming soon. Anyways back to what happened. I ended up going to the main actors house, since that was one of our locations. We filmed the "getting ready shots." But during this we had a little fun with the angles and camera movement. For example we added a little transition, some over the shoulder, tracking shots, and some other angles that included me climbing things to get the perfect shot. At one point we even had his mom he

So from my previous blog, I explained how we canceled filming due to the lockdown. Because of this we planned to film today. Reason was because Thursday there are no activity buses for my other group members to get home. Tuesday one of us had something to do.  And Friday there is no school, and we have to do it after school for rides. We were originally still going to one of my group members house on Saturday which is still in the plan. But today we did not film. I know I know a lot of delays. But another group member was sick and couldn't make it, and she was one of the characters that would be filmed the most today. So we canceled it and agreed to leave till after spring break, because during spring break some of us are traveling.     Which brings me to another issue, one of  our members are going to Orlando this weekend, meaning they wont be able to go Saturday. Another group member can't make it leaving me and Andres (the main character). Technically that's all we

Production Blog: Lockdown...

If you remember from my previous blog I mentioned today after school we would begin filming. But we had a little inconvenience. During school we had a lockdown, due to a threat to the school. At the time I went to the bathroom when it was announced that there was a lockdown. Funny part is i was walking into the bathroom when it happened, there was another girl in there. We both ran out and went to our classrooms, we knocked on the door and no one answered. It makes sense that what our teachers were trained to do. But I still had to knock on a few doors, then I saw a security guard and told her the issue. She ran upstairs to where I was an opened a random room before I went in I saw the girl from earlier. So she ran and got in the room with me, I told her we should go to the back. So we went into a closet, locked the door, turned the lights off, and stayed quiet. We were in there alone for a little more than two hours. At one point the police came in when they found us they just s

Earlier today, I spoke with my group. We came to the conclusion that before we start filming we have to get a suit, since the main character is a lawyer. Thankfully in real life he does debate so he had to get a suit anyways. Moral of the story he would get that on the weekend, but we still can not film because some of us already have plans with our parents.       We are going to start filming on Monday but first let me give the run down. Monday we will film the scenes on Wilton drive, after school. This is because that would give us enough time for them to catch the activity bus or time for their parents to pick them up. Then following scene we discussed, is the shot at a house. The house we are using is Andres, since he is the one being filmed for these shots the best choice would be his room. However his house is far from us, for example he is a 25-30 minute drive from me. Im not sure how far he is from everyone else but i know it is still a drive. Due to this we will have to wait

Production Blog: Delay

We soon should start filming but he haven't had the chance, yet. We just finished our storyboard, scripts, and designs so we are caught up in what we want to do. But I am pretty sure we are going to change a few things. Don't worry though I'll be sure to let you know. Moving on I still have to plan with the rest of the group when we will begin filming. Obviously as soon as we can but we have school, work, other things we need to attend to. Not only are we busy but some of the group lives far. Let me explain a lot of our locations are near our school, I live 13 minutes way but my other group members live 20 minutes to 45 minutes away. Not to mention all of my group members are sophomores and do not have cars or a license. Meaning their parents would have to bring them, either way we would use a lot of gas. I say all of this because with the locations and what not we have to split up how and when we are filming. I mentioned it before in our planning blog, I said we would hav

Planning blog: Storyboard

Welcome Back! Along with our script we also developed a storyboard for our movie! With five pages total, our first page depicts Santana walking into the courtroom, about to depose a man named Joel. Santana is being explained the case for the first time as he walks into the interrogation room by his assistant named Maria. Santana sits down in the room and begins to talk with Joel. The following page explains the events after successfully resolving the case, where Santana egocentrically flirts with women, before he is interrupted by a phone call. Santana walks away from the women and it’s Maria calling amazed that he was able to resolve this case. Santana is trying to get out of this phone call to flirt with women which he eventually does. As he tries to start flirting again, page 3 shows that Santana is yet again interrupted, but this time it’s a girl named Ellie. Ellie comes to Santana, begging him for help, explaining that she feels as though her life is in danger. Santana explains ho
