Production Blog: Finally we filmed

With many interventions we finally did it and filmed during spring break, last week. We still have more to film, but point is we started. Due to it being spring break though, many of us were leaving or had plans every other day. So to set up a day most of us could film was a hassle. It ended up being two of us filming one day because more than half of the video are solo shots of the main actor, meaning we didn't need everyone. We still have to film the other scenes which we will do sometime this week or the next. So expect another blog about filming soon. Anyways back to what happened. I ended up going to the main actors house, since that was one of our locations. We filmed the "getting ready shots." But during this we had a little fun with the angles and camera movement. For example we added a little transition, some over the shoulder, tracking shots, and some other angles that included me climbing things to get the perfect shot. At one point we even had his mom helping us with some effects; one of the scenes he wakes up and claps twice to turn on the lights, I couldn't reach the lights and get the angle we wanted so his mom stepped in to turn them on for us.

Once we finished filming the "getting ready" shots, we moved to our next location. I may have commented this in a previous blog but to recap, we were supposed to find and office space to film on Wilton Drive. The only office space there would be City Hall which we wouldn't get permission for. So we changed it to a place by his house, it's a local area so we didn't have to get permission. By angling correctly the place looked professional enough to be an office. We will still have to film on Wilton Drive to film the interaction between Ellie and Santana, as well as filming the court scene. Some of these scenes though might not happen due to the time limit. We will still film them just in case but we might not use them, either way I will keep you updated.
