CCR

 1.  Many music videos have a lot of time put into them. With backup dancers, fancy equipment, fancy software to edit, costumes, different sets, and everything needed to make their video the best possible. For all of these things you need money. Which is something I don't have being a 16 year old teenager, that goes to school and lives with their mom. Me being underaged also makes it hard for me to go out to places and what not, because I need permission from my mom, I need a ride, and I have a curfew. As well as my actors. Making most of those conventions used in music videos not be accessible to me. I couldn't use any money, I worked with what I had. My sets were a Barns & Nobels, that was still being in use by many other people making it very difficult to film without interruptions, and a park with the same issue. I had to represent "young love" the best I could without making it cheesy. But lets be honest the video is a bit cheesy but most music videos about l

Production Blog: Finally done!!!!

I finished the video!!! I am so happy, it is done. I was doing editing yesterday and it was so stressful. First I wanted the daydreaming scenes go when the beat dropped, or at least when the lyrics said "you." All while staying in the time limit of 1:15. The song takes so long to get to that point so I had to cut a bit off in the beginning, but it still was too long. So the beginning scenes had to be longer to meet that point of the song; I slowed some scenes a bit, nothing too noticeable, it actually made it better. Due to me slowing it down made the video longer, about 8 seconds longer. Meaning I had to shorten the last scenes. I did it and it worked. But I have seen the video so many times it doesn't make sense to me anymore. I feel as if the ending was a bit rushed but you get the point. If I had more time I could've made it way better. Just the whole song would be okay. But I also had to cut the song to 1:15, and it wasn't the best part to stop on. So I tried

Production Blog: Filming day 2!!!!

So we were able to film yesterday. A bit rushed but it was accomplished, kind of. After school we went to a park near by the school. Once again our schedules were all over the place. So we got there before one of our actors, so we just ended up hanging out until he got there. He got there a bit late and my other actor had to leave by five. A little timeline for you, we got out of school around 3, we went to eat then went to the park, making it around 4-4:30. Meaning filming was a bit rushed. Thankfully there wasn't much left to film, just the flashbacks, which are 10 seconds. We did a scene on the bench, one walking, some talking, fun stuff. But the first time we filmed we took a scene in the car. It was them singing along to the song, at night driving. It was a perfect scene for the flashbacks. But it was at night and the videos we took were at a park around 4:30. Those scenes wouldn't match with that one scene, and it was a perfect opening scene. But I can't open up with

Production blog: I began editing

I started to look through the footage and adding them together. As I was watching a lot of the scene were good but they wouldn't match up with the other scene. For example the first scene is actor 1 opening the door; he opened the door weird so the following scene had to follow how he opened the door. That scene was a bit long but it made the beginning look better. There was so many minor details I had to add or fix for it to make sense. Like another example we had scenes of him walking and ending up to see actor 2. But there is so much going on in the background I couldn't use the footage. Then it didn't make sense if we skipped that part so I had to add him just walking around. Issue is it made the video longer and I am up to 1:20, and I'm missing like half of the video. I still need to do flashbacks for it to make sense. Now I'm a little worried because the scenes are great, the angles and everything I am happy with. But The best scenes I can't use. It either

Production blog: The stress is kicking in

So I was supposed to do the second part of filming this week but there has been issue after issue. As some may know next week is that last week before midterms. Meaning it will be one of the most stressful weeks of the year. I have so much work to do, including this project. So I organized my days to still have time for me but it looks like I am going to have to cram everything up. Today, Thursday, one of my actors can't film because it's his dads birthday. My other actor can't Friday or Saturday because she has debate, and Sunday she is taking a "me day." Everyone needs there alone time so I wont force her to do anything she doesn't want to. So we left it for Monday. Although it's not a bad idea I will have to do everything all together on the same day. Today I will have to start editing, if I can. At least the first and ending, leave the middle with the "daydreaming" alone. Monday once I get the footage, I can go over it and pick the ones I wa

Production Blog: First day of filming!!!!

Image
This blog is a few days late; I have just had so much going on with class and midterms. But now I am ready to tell how the first day of filming went. So today is Tuesday and we filmed on Sunday. We changed everything that I had planned, I just let our creativity out. Now I know I keep saying "our" even though I am working by myself, but I am talking about my "actors." We started off by going to my friends house because she has cool stuff by there, the perfect Barnes and Nobles with a Starbucks inside. It was just perfect for the idea I had. I thought it would be kind of cool if I had the guy chase the girl instead of the girl chase him. One thing lead to another, I changed the opening scenes and ended up changing the whole story but its still the overall idea. Instead of them sitting the guy walks and sees the girl, he spends the rest of the time trying to be next to her. At one point she drops her wallet and he looks for her, she ends up asking him out.
