Production Blog: First day of filming!!!!

 This blog is a few days late; I have just had so much going on with class and midterms. But now I am ready to tell how the first day of filming went. So today is Tuesday and we filmed on Sunday. We changed everything that I had planned, I just let our creativity out. Now I know I keep saying "our" even though I am working by myself, but I am talking about my "actors." We started off by going to my friends house because she has cool stuff by there, the perfect Barnes and Nobles with a Starbucks inside. It was just perfect for the idea I had. I thought it would be kind of cool if I had the guy chase the girl instead of the girl chase him. One thing lead to another, I changed the opening scenes and ended up changing the whole story but its still the overall idea. Instead of them sitting the guy walks and sees the girl, he spends the rest of the time trying to be next to her. At one point she drops her wallet and he looks for her, she ends up asking him out. The best part is there little details in the video, like they are reading next to each other but you can tell he is not reading. He is half way through the book the second he sits, when he leave he leaves the book, she find it and knows it is the most random book ever. I am loving how the story is going, I did get some help from them though, but at one point I really felt like a director. I used different angles and thought so much how I wanted to organize it, I even had little sessions with them trying to let them let loose to act. For example one of the last scenes it was them talking and the guy had to look at the camera, breaking the fourth wall. My actor wasn't the best he kept giving me a weird smirk and I was being so pick. That scene took us so long but I never stopped filming just in case he did it, he did and I was so happy. We finished half of the video, the next part will have to be the daydreaming part. Which will work perfectly because they will have different outfits and for sure our creativity is going to go crazy. So sometime this week we will film the next part depending on everyones schedule.

 To investigate the genre of mystery even further, we watched a couple of mystery films. We specifically looked into the film, "Murder Mystery." The movies follows a New York police officer and his wife as they travel together to Europe to rekindle their romance. However, on what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, they are accused of killing a billionaire after a casual encounter. It is up to them to figure out who actually killed the billionaire in order to save themselves.  This movie displayed many of the general conventions of a typical mystery film. For example, in the scene of the murder, there is a total of ten people in the room as the billionaire signs his will, disinheriting his family. There is tense music as the family hears this betrayal, which makes the environment uneasy. Then all of a sudden, the lights abruptly go off and the screen turns black. Production Blog: Editing

 Editing is almost done. On Friday I started editing and I finished, for the most part. I put all the scenes together and made an outro, but there is no sound. I have a plan for it, there will be like a happy song in the background with a bit of beach sounds. As I get closer to the ocean I will lower the music and increase the beach sounds. When we go back to sit down the song will become louder. It will give the affect of my happiness and calm vibe in the beginning going into my confusion. I think it will make the story make more sense, because the story line is a bit confusing. I showed it to a few people and they laughed which might be a good sign. But not everyone got the story, they did get the overall picture though. During the editing there were a few problems, the scenes were too short. If they weren't under 5 seconds it was just a video of us laughing or fighting. So in order to reach the time requirement I slowed most of the scenes, and made a longer outro than planned. T...
